Plot comparison reviews go wrong when fallow ground stays in the denominator. A terrace that grew nothing still occupies map space; it should not drag the hectare average unless you intentionally study land utilization.
Mark fallow plots with a distinct code before charting. We usually exclude them from yield-per-hectare averages and list them in a side note so readers know the land was idle, not merely weak.
Partial fallow — a strip left empty after a failed transplant — needs a measured area, not a guess. If you lack a survey, estimate conservatively and label the estimate.
